Training Endorsements

On behalf of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Team (MTSS) I wanted to thank you and share our appreciation for how you supported the professional and personal growth of our AACPS colleagues today. The feedback received regarding your keynote and break-out session was overwhelmingly positive. Many of our colleagues are requesting to learn more from you in the future and said they have never had trauma explained that well before. They also found you relatable and genuine. We appreciate you creating an environment that made them feel heard and appreciated as educators and we can’t wait to do it again on Wednesday. Thank you for all you do!

Good morning! – I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your training.  Admittedly, I wasn’t excited about attending another trauma training.  I’m a licensed social worker so it seems in the past few years I’ve attended so many of them, all of them being exactly the same.  The angle yours was coming from, making sure our own “stuff” was acknowledged and dealt with in order to effectively work with a student/client, was one I hadn’t heard before and I think a lot of professionals need to hear.  In fact, I was supposed to leave in the afternoon for another training and begged my boss to let me stay because it was so informative.  So thank you for taking a different approach, I think it’s something more districts and mental health professionals need!

Aaron Wiemeier’s presentations about the effects of trauma on the brain and the waysadoptive parents can help to heal that damage have become an essential element of our Adoptive Parent Preparation classes. Feedback from participants consistently rates this aspect of the training very high. Aaron is very skilled at presenting his extensive knowledge in an accessible, engaging way. He is energetic and warm, holding the interest of his audience with his passion, compassion, and humor. Most often, adoptive parents tell me they would have liked more time with him. I would strongly recommend Aaron Wiemeier as a teacher and trainer.

“I have had the opportunity to hear Kim present to both large and small audiences and in my experience, Kim is a natural presenter.  She has a confident presence that demonstrates her expertise and commands attention while also feeling relational and at ease.  Her ability to articulate information and present in a clear and cohesive manner creates an atmosphere for engagement and participation.”

“Professional” just does not seem adequate enough to convey how I feel about Kim Johancen’s presentation.  She is able to put across a powerful message in a captivating way, which is motivating and inspiring! On behalf of my department, I appreciate the valuable contributions she has made to the clinical field and in particular to the lives of children and families she has empowered to be successful.
